The story starts with the sources of Kara Zor-El, who is sent by her folks Alura and Zor-El from Krypton to Earth to watch over her newborn child cousin, Kal-El. Krypton detonates seconds after the fact, thumping the case off base and sending it into the Phantom Zone. She stayed solidified in time in the Zone for a long time before it got away and slammed on Earth. Kal-El, who had by then gone ahead to notoriety as Superman, protected Kara from her unit and takes her to live with, Eliza and Jeremiah Danvers, the researchers who helped him come into his forces, and their little girl Alex.
After twelve years, Kara Danvers lives in National City and functions as a right hand to Cat Grant, the leader of the uber media combination CatCo. Alex is going to load onto a flight to Geneva, feels that Kara should keep on remaining a typical individual, in spite of Kara's longing to utilize her forces. After a news report uncovers that the plane conveying Alex is going to crash, she utilizes her forces without precedent for years. In spite of the fact that Kara starts to think about whether she could turn into a legend like her cousin, Alex stresses that Kara is placing herself in peril. The following day, Kara uncovers her mystery to her colleague, Winn Schott, who enables Kara to idealize her capacities and outlines a uniform for her, and she is named "Supergirl" by Cat Grant, who is uninformed of her actual character. The news of Supergirl's activities pulls in the consideration of Vartox, an outsider in charge of the endeavored plane crash.
While flying, Kara is shot around a sedative containing Kryptonite and conveyed to the mystery central station of the Department of Extra-Normal Operations (DEO), where it turns out Alex works. Her activities persuade Hank that Supergirl, with assistance from Alex, can be valuable to the DEO. The next day, CatCo's new craftsmanship chief, James Olsen, uncovers to Kara that he knows her mystery character. James passes on a blessing: an indestructible cape produced using Kal-El's child wrappings.
Then, in another piece of the universe, the news of Vartox's demise achieves his leader, uncovered to be General Astra, Alura's indistinguishable twin sister and Kara's auntie. Astra has plans to assume control over the world and murder Kara so she can influence her niece to pay for her mom's wrongdoings.
